I recently read an article in “Barron’s Penta,” called “Spheres of Influence,” which highlights independent high end watchmakers. These watchmakers only make a few dozen pieces a year and sell in the millions of dollars.

Rexhep Rexhepi, a Kosovar émigré to Switzerland, founded Akrivia in Geneva in the last decade. However, his work focuses on maintaining ancient methods of watchmaking. This translates into pieces that are unique, handmade and in low production quantities. Akrivia is located in the old town of Geneva, a location befitting the watchmakers.
